This video shot inside an apartment shows the moment the quake hit. Outside chaos in the streets women clutching babies. Streams of residents everywhere. Across much of this swath of eastern Turkey all that remains is rubble. Hardest hit their -- and -- cities near the Iranian border. In -- he's alone more than eighty multi story buildings collapsed -- -- people still inside. Rescue teams have been digging around the clock pulling people from the rubble including this toddler. More than 1000 teams have been called in from across the country as well as Turkish troops. The conditions here are just right for a catastrophe. Turkey sits on a number of fault lines. The quake's origin was just twelve point four miles beneath the surface shallow enough to guarantee widespread devastation. Much of it due to lax enforcement of building codes it's estimated at just 13 of all buildings in Turkey complied. But. Outside the big counted even worse Turkey's prime minister -- that almost all the mud brick houses and the surrounding villages and I collapsed. But it got so we'll continue to rise today as rescue teams try to save those they can.
