What Kinds Of Doctors And Health Professionals Provide Alternative Medicine Treatment?

David Rakel, M.D., Wisconsin

Question: What kinds of doctors and health professionals provide alternative medicine treatment?

Answer: If a physician or clinician is interested in alternative or complementary medicine, it's often geared toward their interests or their passion to really understand what the body needs to be well. Often they may recognize the importance of the external as well as the internal. Often we focus on the external aspects, but to really get deep into the roots of health and wellness, we have to look at the internal aspects that require some self-reflection.

So often these physicians may sit with you a little bit longer, really explore how your life might be influencing your health, and also your emotions. And often, they'll use many different tools to help facilitate that process based on your unique needs.
