Do Pediatricians Who Practice Alternative Medicine Typically Recommend The Same Vaccination Schedule Advised By The American Academy Of Pediatrics?

Kathi J. Kemper, M.D., Wake Forest

Question: Do pediatricians who practice alternative medicine typically recommend the same vaccination schedule advised by the American Academy of Pediatrics?

Answer:Integrative pediatricians are for the most part members of the American Academy of Pediatrics and recommend the same vaccine schedule as the standard vaccine schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Because integrative pediatricians, like all good pediatricians, are respectful of parents' wishes and concerns, they may spend extra time reassuring parents about the importance of vaccines and their safety and the flexible and adaptable to work with parents to get the child immunized on a schedule that meets everyone's needs most effectively.
