Question: Why is it important to determine the cause of heart failure?

Answer: It's important to determine the cause of heart failure because some causes of heart failure may be treated in a different way. And in fact there are some curable forms of heart failure. For example heart failure that is caused by an abnormality in one of the heart valves might be cured with repair or replacement of that valve.
