Nancy Nixon started getting mammograms at age 40. She was diagnosed at 47 with a stage II cancer, for which she subsequently sought treatment.
"Having a yearly mammogram made me feel somewhat secure... Everyone that I know in my age group that has breast cancer was diagnosed in their 40s. I believe they all feel the same way I do; mammograms are not perfect but we have no other choice today."
