Kim Goebels, who came up with the idea of the dolls, died from breast cancer in 2004. Her sister, Kris, is president of Partners for a Cure Foundation, Inc. Proceeds from the sale of the doll go to the foundation, which helps women undergoing cancer treatments with immediate financial assistance for child-care services or transportation during medical appointments.
