— -- Question: How can I express love, both physically and emotionally, to my partner during and after my breast cancer treatments?

Answer: You may be frustrated that you're not as active sexually as you were prior to your treatment beginning, and you may be worrying about how this is impacting your partner, your husband.

There are a variety of ways in which you can express love and emotion without it having to be just during sex. Call him at work; let him know that you're thinking about him. Tell him how important he is to you and how much you value his support as you take your journey together being transformed from a victim into a survivor.

Hold hands while you're taking a leisurely walk. Hold hands while you're sitting at the dinner table. Send him a funny present, even if it's at work or while he's away, if he needs to be gone while you're undergoing your treatment. Hold his face and tell him why you chose him. Hold his face and give him a wonderful kiss; I bet you it's been a long time since you really had a long kiss. Do that.

You're actually starting over again as a re-born woman -- re-born being cancer free. Take advantage of this time to together and letting him know how much you care about him and value his love.
