Question: What Are The Drugs, Timetable And Possible Side Effects Expected With The TAC Chemotherapy Protocol?

Answer: TAC is doxorubicin and docetaxel and cyclophosphamide, and this is a widely used regimen which replaced an older regimen called FAC. It was slightly more effective and therefore became preferred. With this regimen, one can expect hair loss, low blood counts and risk of infection, as well as a variety of other less common side effects. A patient's doctor will routinely discuss these side effects in detail with the patient.
