— -- Question: What can I do to help pass the time during my chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer?

Answer: Chemotherapy for breast cancer can take several hours. It can oftentimes be a fairly boring experience, where patients are sitting, getting an IV, for anywhere from 1-3 hours. Whatever an individual person finds the most appealing they should bring along with them when they come to their appointment—books, music, DVDs, all of these are perfectly appropriate. Many infusion centers actually have rooms where the chairs are in a circle and patients can sit and chat with each other during their treatments. And I think each patient should decide what way she would prefer to spend her time and just plan for it.
