Answer: If you develop erectile dysfunction after prostate cancer treatment, there are several things we can do to try to correct that. The easiest is to initiate trials with medication -- and there are three common medications used, and these can be very helpful for most men. If the erectile dysfunction persists and continues to be a problem despite medication, there are second and third line therapies which involve mechanical devices and ultimately more direct injection of medication into the penis. If those treatments are unsuccessful, some men proceed to have surgery which can ultimately be a very effective and complete correction to the problem.
