Answer: Zinc is a mineral that is concentrated in the prostate gland and is found in foods, such as beef, and through supplementation. A large population study evaluated zinc supplementation and found an increase in aggressive prostate cancer. Therefore, at this point in time, there is no recommendation for zinc supplementation to reduce the risk of prostate cancer, and further study is necessary.
