For Small Woman and Tall Man, Size Doesn't Matter

Two Feet, 9 inches Tall, Christianne Ray Found Love and Gave Birth to a Daughter

Jeremy's dad Gene agrees, and even though Jeremy is a high school dropout, Gene is moved by his son's transformation.

"He dotes on that little girl," Gene Bowden said. "He has gone beyond my expectations on how he cares for Christianne. I mean, it's obvious that there's a genuine love between the two of them. "

A New 'Normal'

Ray hoped her child would be normal "so that she wouldn't have to go through the same thing that I went through." But 9-month-old Kyrsten is only the length of a newborn and her growth chart mirrors Ray's. She might not be quite as short as her mother, but will certainly be a little person.

Jeremy says he's prepared for the newest little person in his life, and all of the upcoming challenges.

"I'm used to it 'cause when I was younger my mom had cancer. So I helped my mom out, a lot," he said.

This summer, the couple plans to marry, and Bowden has begun thinking about what he'll tell his daughter about life as a little person: "That your mom went through it all. That you can do it, too, and you also have someone there to help you."
