Graphic Cigarette Packaging May Deter Smokers
A proposed graphic health warning for cigarette packages and advertisements depicts an infant exposed to cigarette smoke. The new package warnings are part of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration proposal under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. The act requires that graphic health warnings appear on the upper portion of the front and rear panels of each cigarette package and comprise at least the top 50 percent of the panels. (FDA)
