Top-Selling Statins Equally Effective, Study Finds

Two top-selling statins, Lipitor and Crestor, are equally effective in treating coronary artery disease, a new study found. Both drugs lower levels of LDL cholesterol -- the bad cholesterol that can cause a build-up of blood-blocking plaque inside the arteries. Although Crestor caused a bigger drop in LDL cholesterol, the drugs tied when it came to reducing plaque.
