— -- Entenmann's is voluntarily recalling some baked goods over concerns they could contain small pieces of plastic, according to Bimbo Bakeries USA, which owns the Entenmann's brand.

The voluntary recall was prompted after consumers found small pieces of plastic, related to a manufacturing failure, in some of the items, according to Bimbo Bakeries, based in Pennsylvania. The failure was at a contract manufacturer's bakery in Illinois, the company said in a statement on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's website announcing the recall on Wednesday.

The items affected are Entenmann's Little Bites fudge brownies (five-pack), chocolate chip muffins (five-pack and 10-pack) and variety box (20-pack) and have best-by dates of Sept. 24, 2016, or Oct. 8, 2016. A full list of the recalled products is available on the FDA website.

One injury was reported related to the recalled products, according to Bimbo Bakeries. All recalled products, which were distributed over the last two weeks, are being removed from shelves, the company said. People who purchased the products are advised to throw them out and contact the company for a refund. Bimbo Bakeries USA can be reached at 800-984-0989.
