— -- Rice fields in Shenyang, in northeast China's Liaoning Province, have been transformed into works of art.

It may look like paint, but the images are actually created by strategically growing different varieties of rice, and is a blessing tradition of the Xibe people, according to China Daily.

The images achieve a 3-D effect thanks to technology that limits the plants' height, according to Imagine China.

Farmers in Shenyang have been creating the images for an annual festival since 2012.
