U.S. Navy officials order seven suspected pirates to keep their hands in the air after they tried to hijack a commercial ship. The men were captured Feb. 11, 2009 by the USS Vella Gulf, a guided-missile cruiser that detects and deters piracy. The men were kept aboard the ship until they were transferred by helicopter to the U.S. Navy ship Lewis and Clark.
