60 Rebels Killed In Afghanistan

Hekmatyar Expects "Liberation" of Afghanistan Soon
In an interview with al Hayat, former Afghani Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar said the conditions in Afghanistan today were similar to how they were right before the Russian forces left the country. Hekmatyar, who leads a militant group called Hizb-e-Islami, claims that "resistance" forces are in control of a number of areas and spreading to the different provinces. He says his group works independently of the Taliban, explaining that they've been in negotiations but have not reached any official agreements.
