An arson investigation at a $2.2 million mansion in England became a murder inquiry after police revealed that a mother in the home, Jillian Foster, was killed by a gunshot to the head.
Two other unidentified bodies have also been recovered, but it has not yet been confirmed whether they are the bodies of Foster's husband, millionaire Christopher Foster, 50, and the couple's 15-year-old daughter, Kirstie.
The fire broke out last Tuesday at their family home in Maesbrook in the west midlands area of England around 5 a.m. The buildings on the property were so badly damaged that police were unable to fully enter the property until last Friday.
According to police statements, the body of Jillian Foster and an unidentified man were recovered late on Friday, and Jillian Foster was identified by her dental records.
A third body was discovered late last night by specialist police search teams, but local Police Detective Superintendent Jon Groves said in a statement that, "due to its position... it will take some time to remove."
Police told ABCNews.com that they are seeking to establish whether the two other bodies belonged to Christopher and Kirstie Foster. They are keeping an open mind until the bodies are formally identified.
A .22-caliber rifle legally owned by Christopher Foster was found near the bodies. It has not yet been established if it was the murder weapon.
Police had previously refused to comment, but now confirm that the family's three horses and four dogs were also found shot dead in different parts of the home.
Police expect their investigation to take several days or even weeks because the property is not only large but full of damage and debris which is expected to slow the investigation.
Last Thursday police alerted ports and airports in an effort to track any family members who didn't perish in the blaze.
