Van at UK's Gatwick Airport Checked by Bomb Squad

A suspicious van parked at London's Gatwick Airport caused minor disruptions Wednesday, but police said bomb disposal experts found no threat after searching the vehicle.

The airport's north terminal short stay parking lot was cordoned off for several hours as police carried out small controlled explosions to gain entry into the Renault van.

No flights had been affected at the airport, which is on the outskirts of the capital, but a shuttle train that connects its two terminals had been shut down temporarily. Some passengers' journeys were also delayed because of the disruptions.

Police said they were looking for two men who parked the van, then disappeared.
