Festive siblings sleigh their choreographed Christmas dance tradition for 6 years

— -- These eight siblings are giving a whole new meaning to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

For the past six years, the Orgill family of Highland, Utah, has choreographed elaborate Christmas dances to help spread a healthy dose of holiday cheer.

“I have pretty high expectations,” the ringleader of the group, Ammon Orgill, told ABC News in 2016.

What started as a surprise for their parents in 2012 has now blossomed into a full-fledged dance number that would make even the Rockettes proud.

“It definitely takes a lot more time now,” he said of their intense practicing. “We’re always trying to top it every year and make it more elaborate. This year my sister and I did the choreography. We started the Friday after Thanksgiving and practiced all day Saturday and filmed it on Sunday.”

Over the years a few in-laws and one niece have joined in on the fun, and Ammon said he hopes one day they “can pass it along to all the nieces and nephews” to carry on the tradition.

As for the epic Christmas sweaters they’re all sporting?

“They’re all our mom’s sweaters,” Orgill said. “She loves these sweaters, and she’d pull one out every Christmas. She’s got like 10 of them.”

And even though the siblings tend to disagree about the level of seriousness that goes into the dance routines, which causes a few squabbles here and there, “at the end of the day, we all do love it,” he said. “We love spending time together and how it all brings us together.”
