— -- It's what high school senior Mike Senatore called "the flip heard round the world."

And it's true.

When the 18-year-old student at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, decided to flip a water bottle -- that's it -- for his Senior Week Talent Show on Tuesday, students went absolutely nuts.

His classmate Wesley Manning posted it to Twitter and the video has been retweeted more than 47,000 times.

Twenty-nine of Senatore's classmates also competed in the talent show, according to a rundown posted to Twitter. They performed acts such as impersonating animals, juggling, playing the guitar, singing, dancing and even lip-syncing.

Still, it was Senatore's trick -- which involved him running up to a simple black TV dinner tray and flipping a Deer Park water bottle -- that impressed the audience.

The teen told ABC News he had been practicing the trick for two years.

"But I only practiced specifically for the talent show two hours the night before," he added.

Senatore, who plans to major in political science at the University of South Carolina in the fall, said the trick is easy to replicate for anyone who wants to try.

"Relax your body and then kind of put more of a wrist movement into it and go for it," he suggested.
