Kim Kardashian West Donates 1,000 Pairs of Shoes to Kansas Teen’s Charity
The teen was shocked to receive a generous donation from Kim and Kanye.
— -- A Kansas teen got a big surprise this week after hearing that Kim Kardashian West was trying to contact her in order to donate to her charity.
"Well I believed she was actually trying find someone to give the shoes to but I didn’t think there was any way that could be me" Amelia Flores of Andover, Kansas, told "Good Morning America" co-anchor Michael Strahan today.
Kardashian West was on a mission to contact the teen after watching a show about Flores' participation in the cause "Soles 4 Souls."
"I heard the cutest story of a girl who is trying to find 1,000 pairs of shoes to donate to this charity Soles For Souls!" the reality star tweeted to her 37 million Twitter followers. "They helped her during Hurricane Katrina. I think I know the designer of Shoe of the Year Award!"
Flores said she began receiving a flood of texts, phone calls, emails and social media notifications from strangers alerting her of Kim K.'s quest to donate shoes.
Thanks to Kim and Kanye's gift of 1,000 pairs, Flores met her goal of 2,000 shoes.
Next year, she said, she hopes to reach 25,000 shoes.
