— -- The couple that plays together stays together.

That’s certainly the case with Kevin Ulrich and Celina Frenn, who shared their adorable love story with the world using LEGOs.

It only took Ulrich, a freelance animator, one week to create the touching video using the toys to animate the highlights of their romantic relationship from the moment they met to when he proposed on a gondola ride.

“I decided I couldn’t do it for the proposal without her finding out,” Ulrich told ABC News of his initial plan. “In the months leading up to the wedding she kept saying, ‘It’d be really cool if you could do a video for us.’”

The quirky couple is getting married on April 17 in San Juan Capistrano, California, and the groom-to-be wanted to celebrate the occasion by doing something special for his “fantastic, adorable, and nerdy” fiancé.

“This is our love story in 73 seconds,” he wrote on the description of the video, which now has more than 90,000 views on YouTube.

Since they both work in the same building, he wasn’t able to keep the video a surprise from his beautiful bride.

“Because we started off our relationship as coworkers, we’re able to turn off that sensitive part of yourself that says, ‘He’s criticizing my work.’ We’re able to interact on a creative level,” Ulrich explained.

The most difficult part of the process was not the animation itself but rather narrowing down which memories were the most sentimental to include in the video.

“The first year of dating in particular, every week we had a really big, exciting date adventure,” he said. “Originally...I was going to take a bunch of our photos from a lot of dating and recreate the photo and flash between the two. But a lot of the photos were selfies so you couldn’t see the background well enough for the set. So I went through and found a bunch of photos I really liked and we looked through all those for the moments that we both really liked.”
