Mom lives out prom experience as her son's date
Shontelle Howard-Moss missed her own prom because she was pregnant with her son.
— -- Finding the perfect prom date for some teenagers can be a stressful experience, but Rayquan Howard didn’t have to think too long.
The North Carolina teen decided that the woman he wanted on his arm for the special night was his mother, Shontelle Howard-Moss, and for good reason.
“I wanted to make it special. She didn’t get to go to her prom, so I made it a priority to take her to my prom,” Rayquan told the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina, WSOC-TV.
Rayquan’s mother didn’t get to experience her own prom because she was pregnant with Rayquan.
“Words cannot express this moment,” Shontelle said.
The evening, 18 years in the making, unfolded at the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, North Carolina.
