Does 3-Pointer NBA Finals Sandwich Cross the Line?
This sandwich special for the NBA finals is monstrous.
June 5, 2014 -- No matter whose side you take in the NBA finals fight between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat, you may want to get on board with this limited-edition sandwich. Dubbed the “3 Pointer” as a tribute to the Spurs’ Big Three (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili), the triple-decker is a special at the Spurs AT&T Center during the games.
The sandwich features three barbecued meats (pork, smoked beef brisket and sausage), three cheeses (Texas havarti, muenster and queso fresco), Mexican Coca Cola caramelized onions and a choice of sauce (root beer BBQ, adobo BBQ or creole mustard BBQ), and it’s all sandwiched between three slices of Texas toast.
“The Aramark culinary team at the AT&T Center got together and wanted to create something special for the NBA Finals that represents the flavors of Texas and San Antonio,” Aramark spokesperson Erin Noss said. “Barbecue is popular on the menu at the AT&T Center, so the team started there. The number three theme is a tribute to Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, known as the ‘Big Three.’ That’s why you see three barbecued meats, three types of cheese, three sauce options and three slices of Texas toast.”
You can find this monstrous creation in the AT&T Center’s general concessions at the Smokehouse BBQ stand, section 122, for $12.50.
