'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Early at Disneyland

— -- Star Wars fans don’t have to wait for “The Force Awakens” premiere in December to step into that galaxy far, far away.

At Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca., Imagineers have transformed Tomorrowland into “Season of the Force,” creating Star Wars-inspired interactive exhibits and displays, a new scene in the 3-D flight simulator ride Star Tours and adding a major upgrade to the classic Space Mountain roller coaster.

Inside Star Wars Launch Bay, everyone’s favorite Wookiee Chewbacca greets guests with a furry hug. A few steps away on the deck of a Star Destroyer, Darth Vader dispenses with the pleasantries to accuse possible Rebel spies of stealing a certain set of secret plans.

On Star Tours, a new scene set on the desert planet Jakku includes a brief encounter with Finn, a new Force Awakens character portrayed in the film by actor John Boyega.

“Hyperspace” Mountain puts riders in their own X-Wing fighter for a high-speed battle against the Empire. The ride features new music recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios by the London Symphony Orchestra.

After the flight, you can refuel with some new Star Wars-inspired foods. (Cheese-3PO burger, anyone?)

Star Wars experiences are also coming next month to Walt Disney World in Florida. Construction on 14-acre Star Wars-themed lands will begin at both theme parks in 2016.
