— -- A Texas man picking his wife up from a two-week trip to Spain played all the right notes at the airport pickup -- and struck a chord with onlookers.

Ed Zamora surprised his wife of 33 years, Melody, on Tuesday afternoon at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport by serenading her with a trumpet.

Zamora, a retired band director, played the Louis Armstrong classic “What a Wonderful World” for his wife, while also handing her a bouquet of flowers.

The serenade was caught on camera and posted on the airport’s Facebook page.

An airport spokesman told ABC News that Zamora’s serenade drew a crowd and earned him a round of applause at the end, from even airport employees.

“Some airline employees didn’t want to miss it so they came down and you can overhear them telling Melody that they think he’s a keeper and thanks for sharing the moment with them,” the spokesman said.
