 — -- Muhammad Lila is an international correspondent for ABC News. His work can be seen across all ABC News broadcast and platforms, including Good Morning America, Nightline, and World News with Diane Sawyer, as well as ABCNEWS.com, ABC News Radio, and ABC's affiliate news service "NewsOne."

Muhammad has traveled extensively, focusing on the world's hotspots, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti, and across the Middle East. In 2012, he made headlines when he and a fellow ABC producer were ambushed by the Taliban in a remote province of eastern Afghanistan. He has also covered the unrest in Egypt, civil war in Syria, and in 2013, was invited for a personal audience at the home of the His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Before joining ABC News, Muhammad spent seven years as anchor and reporter in Toronto, where he became one of the youngest to ever anchor the CBC's flagship newscast, The National. Prior to CBC, he was an anchor and reporter for CityTV and CP24, Toronto's top-rated news channel.

Born and raised in Toronto, Muhammad's background spans three continents. He is fluent in English, conversational in Urdu, and continues to study classical Arabic.

Muhammad is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University. In his spare time, Muhammad is an avid travel writer and contributes to the travel section of the Toronto Star, Canada's most-read newspaper.
