"I've been listening to Bonnie Raitt since I've been in high school so there are a lot of her songs that really influence me," said Yearwood. "But it was the song, 'I Can't Make You Love Me' that everybody loved, that I loved too. And that's one of those songs, that 16, 17 years later is still an amazing song. And she's been the poster child for being true to yourself and true to your music."
"You know it's a ring tone actually for my husband," Yearwood said. "I love that song. I don't know what it is. I talk about when I record songs sometimes I hear a song and I know exactly why I like it. and sometimes there's just a song that grows on you and you don't know why you love it and you just do. And that's it for me. It's the groove, it's just I don't know."
"There is a song that I go back to over and over again. It's a song called 'Home' and it's Michael Buble and I heard that song and I had to find it," she said. "Now I usually listen to my iPod when I'm traveling on a plane and I'll put the phones in and I'll always listen to that song. I get it 'cause it talks about you're in a beautiful city but you just wanna be home with the person that you love so that's probably my favorite song right now."
