
Doug Tompkins, Pumalin's patron, oversees (and pays for) every detail of the park's infrastructure. The paths are made of stone, the fences woven from twigs, the shelter from cut timbers with copper eaves. The sumptuous infrastructure of Pumalin rivals the best parks in the U.S. and Canada and is almost certainly the best to be found in all of Latin America.
