Before developing a strong reputation playing tough-talking authority figures, Laurence Fishburne starred on ABC's "One Life to Live" as adoptee Joshua West Hall from 1973-1976, scoring the role at just 12 years old. Here, Fishburne is seen on the set with actor Anthony Ponzini. After his exposure on daytime TV, Fishburne landed a film role in the 1975 flick "Cornbread, Earl and Me." At 14 he was already working with famous director Francis Ford Coppola in the 1979 movie "Apocalypse Now." Since then Fishburne's career has been a string of successes, including a lead role in the 1991 hit "Boyz N the Hood" and numerous Broadway performances. (ABC/Getty Images)
