NO WARNING: The sturgeon jump in the Suwannee without warning. They swim up river in the spring to spawn and spend the summer in the cool spring-fed waters. Curiously, they do not eat while they are in the river. In fall they return to the saltwater of the Gulf of Mexico, where they gorge on sea life before the spawning cycle begins again.
