Rachel Stuttard, 32, from Birmingham, England, was persuaded to ride the road with her husband. He first did it nine years ago. At the top she confessed she was a bit frightened.

When she saw the fog she joked that it might be blessing: she couldn't see the 1,000 footsheer drop below us. Later on, Stuttard fell.

"It's quite nerve-wracking," she said. "It doesn't get any easier. I had a bit of a fall back there. I decided to say hello to the ground."

She said her pride was hurt, but she was determined to make it to the bottom. And she did. (Jeffrey Kofman/ ABC News)
