The Next Mormon Reality Star?

"American Idol" finalist David Archuleto is one of many Mormons on reality TV.

Mormons Are Stormin' Reality TV

The "American Idol" finalist is the latest in a long line of reality TV stars who also happen to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It may seem odd that so many uninhibited reality TV contestants are Mormons, a religion that's often perceived as being especially restrictive. Many Americans see Mormons as outsiders, which might lead to public fascination, and producers may also bank on religious differences creating interpersonal drama with other contestants.

Archuleta, 17, is a Mormon from Murray, Utah.
