Charles Manson:
One-time failed rocker Charles Manson was the architect behind the gruesome murders of actress Sharon Tate and six others during a killing spree in the summer of 1969. Manson's cult members, known as the "Family," carried out the grisly crimes at the order of the manipulative ex-con. Though now serving a life sentence for the murders, Manson continues to draw a cult following among a new generation, receiving more mail than any other inmate in the U.S. prison system.
