Rep. Wilbur D. Mills of Arkansas made a name for himself at the end of his congressional career by his drunken exploits with Fanne Fox, a stripper from Argentina. He subsequently stepped down as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, acknowledged his addiction to alcohol and checked himself into Palm Beach Institute at West Palm Beach.
