— -- President Barack Obama will spend most of Monday in New York City.

The first event on Obama's schedule is the Barnard College 120 th Commencement ceremony where he will be the keynote speaker. He'll also receive the Barnard Medal of Distinction, which is the college's highest honor. Barnard is a women's college, so look for Obama's speech to focus on themes aimed at winning the female vote, which he did in 2008.

The president also will tape an appearance on ABC's "The View," which will air at 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday. Then it's on to a fundraiser hosted by the LGBT, singer Ricky Martin and the Futuro Fund.

Michelle Obama, meanwhile, will be in Dallas with U.S. Olympians to promote her "Let's Move!" initiative to solve the problem of childhood obesity. She'll then deliver remarks at a campaign event.

And then there is this:  John Edwards' lawyers begin presenting his defense at his campaign-finance trial. His attorneys have not said if Edwards will take the stand.
