Top Ten Moments From the Democratic Nomination Fight
10/30/07: Clinton Slips on Licenses: Hillary Clinton wavers during a debate on whether she supports driver's licenses for illegal immigrants. She is roundly criticized by her opponents and takes two weeks to clarify her opposition against then-N.Y. Gov. Eliot Spitzer's controversial bill. Obama spokesman Bill Burton later says, "When it takes two weeks and six different positions to answer one question on immigration, it's easier to understand why the Clinton campaign would rather plant their questions than answer them," a reference to charges that her campaign had passed questions to people to pose to Clinton at a rally.
