— CLEVELAND, OH -- As Ivanka Trump, eldest daughter of Donald Trump, prepares to take the stage on the final day of the Republican National Convention tonight, she has responded to questions about some of the rhetoric that has permeated the convention floor.

On “The Today Show” this morning, Trump was asked about certain chants that ring out among delegates, including calls to “lock her up” in reference to Hillary Clinton. She was asked if she is comfortable with this chant.

"It is certainly exciting," Trump said, apparently deflecting the question to comment on the convention as a whole. "It’s a major production, but it's definitely a different experience. I’ve never been to something like this."

Her demurral is notable: Trump was -- at least prior to this presidential campaign -- friendly with Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Trump’s Democratic rival.

The glamorous businesswoman and daughter of the Republican nominee has been a constant presence in her father’s campaign. Delegates saw her on the convention floor Tuesday, standing with her siblings as her eldest brother cast the votes for the New York delegation that put their father over the top to clinch the nomination.

Unlike her eldest brother, Donald Jr., Ivanka Trump has been a registered Democrat in the past and was unable to vote for her father in the New York primary, although she has always pledged her total support to his candidacy. She will introduce her father tonight before his address to the convention.

The candidate's daughter also this morning also did not address Sen. Ted Cruz's notable non-endorsement of her father in Cruz's speech last night, although she acknowledged to "Good Morning America" this week that the primary got contentious.

"“My father is an outsider, and we went through a very tough primary,” Trump said. “And he emerged from that the winner, but there were certainly ruffled feathers along the way.”
