— -- President Obama made an uncharacteristic mistake Thursday.

The president was on a roll before a friendly, boisterous crowd at a town hall at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana – his first trip as president to the city.

“I love Baton Rouge, but this is the first time I’ve been here as president,” Obama said as he began the event.

But by the time the president concluded the event about 75 minutes later, he apparently forgot where he was.

“Thank you New Orleans!” Obama shouted as he wrapped up his comments. “God bless America!”

For a president famous for his eloquent and articulate speeches, the mistake was unusual. But even before the flub, Obama admitted the presidency is taking its toll.

“My mother-in-law had been going through some storage stuff and found our wedding video,” Obama said. “And I popped it in -- and I look like a teenager -- and realized, boy, I sure have aged.”

An earlier version of this story misidentified the day when the president spoke. He spoke in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday
