Iraq War Protest
Five years after U.S. forces invaded Iraq, polls show that two-thirds of Americans think the war effort is not worth it. In a speech today, "Global War on Terror," President George W. Bush defended the war and reiterated the need to stay the course in order to keep the "hard-fought gains" of the past year.

Anti-war protesters used the occasion to vocalize their opposition to the war, which has resulted in the loss of nearly 4,000 U.S. lives. The war has cost roughly $600 billion, according to the Pentagon, while the Congressional Budget Office and other analysts put the total cost at upwards of $1 trillion.
