The train went from New York City to Washington, D.C., arriving at Union Station after dark.
Kennedy was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, steps away from the grave of his elder brother, President John F. Kennedy.
At his funeral on June 8, 1968, Sen. Edward Kennedy eulogized his brother as "a good decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it."
