Friday, April 27, 2007 — -- This weekend's highlights include the California Democratic Party's convention in San Diego as well as the 15th anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots which will be marked by Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) in a speech Sunday morning to the First A.M.E. Church.

On Saturday, California Democrats hear from Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT), Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), and Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH). On Sunday, the California Democratic Party Convention hears from two Democratic '08ers: Sen. Edwards and Gov. Richardson.

Saturday politics:

While in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sen. Obama holds two splashy fundraisers. The first is in the early evening at the Brentwood home of super-agent Ari Emanuel. Admission is $2300 per person. Later that night, Obama is in Hollywood for a $500-a-head fundraiser at a club called Boulevard 3. While her husband is in the Golden State, Michelle Obama attends a 3:00 pm ET house party in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Former President Bill Clinton delivers a 10:00 am ET commencement address at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

President Bush attends a 1:30 pm ET Republican National Committee luncheon in Key Biscayne, FL, and delivers a 5:00 pm ET commencement address at Miami Dade College in Miami, FL. First Lady Laura Bush delivers a 1:30 pm ET commencement address at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) still riding the announcement trail touches down in Elko, NV for a 10:00 am ET campaign rally at the Elko County courthouse. McCain then heads in the direction of home for a 6:00 pm ET campaign rally at Tempe City Hall in Tempe, AZ.

Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) and Sen. Joe Biden speak at 10:30 am ET at the South Carolina Democratic Party Convention in Columbia, SC. Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) gives his remarks at 3:00 pm ET

Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) takes advantage of his time in South Carolina and has a slew of events before heading to the Left Coast. He first holds an 8:00 am ET breakfast meetings with Democratic Women and 8:50 am ET meeting with the Progressive Caucus before 9:30 am remarks to the South Carolina Democratic Convention in Columbia, SC. He then attends a 10:00 pm ET California Democratic Party dinner honoring Speaker Pelosi, and delivers a 11:00 pm ET addresses to the California Democratic Progressive Caucus and 1:00 am ET (Sunday remarks) California Young Democrats in San Diego, CA.
