“This Week” Wins 2015 4th Quarter in Adults 25-54 Marking its First 4th Quarter Win in 22 Years

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” won the 2015 4th quarter in Adults 25-54 (941,000), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week’s” news demo performance represented its 3rd-straight quarter victory and marked its first 4th quarter win in 22 years – since 4Q93.

“This Week” outdelivered NBC’s “Meet the Press” (909,000) in Adults 25-54 (+32,000) to beat the NBC program during the 4th quarter for the 3rd year in a row and for the 10th straight quarter.

“This Week” outperformed CBS’ “Face the Nation” (812,000) in Adults 25-54 (+129,000) for the first time during a 4th quarter in 6 years and by its largest 4th quarter advantage in 15 years – since 4Q09 and 4Q00, respectively.

“This Week” turned in double-digit gains versus the year-ago quarter (2.848 million and 840,000, respectively, for 4Q14) in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+12%) to deliver its strongest 4th quarter performance in 7 years – since 4Q09. Further, 4Q15 was “This Week’s” most-watched quarter in nearly 7 years – since 1Q08.

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” stood as Sunday’s No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (1.059 million) on December 27, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” (855,000) by 204,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (943,000) by 116,000.

In addition, This Week” scored its largest Total Viewer lead (+152,000) over NBC’s “Meet the Press” (3.313 million) in 5 months – since 7/19/15.

“This Week” improved week to week (3.314 million and 870,000, respectively, for 12/20/15) in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+22%) to deliver its 2nd-best performance of the season.

“This Week” increased year to year (3.220 million and 883,000, respectively, for 12/28/14) in both Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 25-54 (+20%)

Season to date, “This Week” ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (941,000), leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” (812,000) by 129,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (909,000) by 32,000, and leading at this point of the season for the first time in 22 years – since the 1993-94 season.

In addition, “This Week’s” news demo lead over “Face the Nation” is its largest at this point of a season in 15 years – since the 2000-01 season. “This Week” is also beating “Meet the Press” in the key adult news demo season to date for the 3rd year in a row.

“This Week” is improving by double digits in both Total Viewers (+12% - 3.202 million vs. 2.848 million) and Adults 25-54 (+12% - 941,000 vs. 840,000) versus its year-ago season averages to post its strongest performance in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.
