“20/20: In an Instant” Premieres Saturday, June 18 at 9:00pm ET on ABC

Returning for its second season, “In an Instant” does more than just re-tell heart-pounding first-person accounts of the world’s most harrowing tales of survival; it brings them to life with breathtaking dramatizations of the moments before and after life was forever changed. The powerful series features the trials and triumphs from every angle, and includes gripping first person interviews with the people who lived to tell their stories - and those who were instrumental in helping rescue everyone they could. What key decisions did they make to save their lives? “20/20: IN AN INSTANT” premieres on SATURDAY, JUNE 18 (9:00 – 11:00 pm ET) on the ABC TELEVISION NETWORK.

Episode 1: “Tragedy in Tornado Alley”
It was just after 1 p.m. on May 20, 2013 when the Storm Prediction Center issued a tornado watch for Eastern Oklahoma. Two hours later, storm spotters confirmed that an EF5 tornado had touched down and was ripping across the state towards the city of Moore, where school was in session.

As sirens blared, teachers at Plaza Towers Elementary donned brave faces while bracing the students for impact. Talking for the first time ever on television, teacher Jennifer Doan, whose Plaza Towers class was the hardest hit, shares her very personal story of tragedy and triumph left in the tornado’s wake. NOTE: This episode replaces the previously announced “20/20: In an Instant” for Saturday, June 18, “Murder in the Maternity Ward.”

“20/20: In an Instant” is executive produced by Maria Awes and Andy Awes for Committee Films in association with ABC’s Lincoln Square Productions. Rudy Bednar is Executive Producer on behalf of Lincoln Square Productions.
