ABC News’ “Good Morning America” stood as No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (5.095 million) for the week of January 4, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Winning for the 16th time in as many weeks this season, “GMA” outperformed NBC’s “Today” (4.805 million) by 290,000.

“GMA” turned in increases from the previous week (4.774 million, 1.589 million and 1.109 million, for w/o 12/28/15) in Total Viewers (+7%), Adults 25-54 (+10%) and Adults 18-49 (+17%). In fact, “GMA” hit a 6-week high in Total Viewers and an 8-month best in Adults 18-49 – since weeks of 11/23/15 and 4/27/15, respectively.

Season to date, “GMA” stands the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers, beating “Today” by 320,000 (4.947 million vs. 4.627 million) and taking the top spot at this point of the season for the 4th consecutive year.

During the week, “GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+32%/+1.225 million), Adults 25-54 (+46%/+552,000) and Adults 18-49 (+48%/+418,000).
