“Nightline” Grows Week-to-Week in Key Adults 18-49 Demo for 3rd Week in a Row
Season to Date “Nightline” Leads CBS Across the Board
ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.556 million Total Viewers, 605,000 Adults 25-54 and 481,0000 Adults 18-49 for the week of March 14, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS’ “The Late Late Show” (1.326 million, 492,000 and 393,000, respectively) across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+230,000), Adults 25-54 (+113,000) and Adults 18-49 (+88,000).
For the 3rd week running, “Nightline” was up from the previous week in Adults 18-49 (+6% - 481,000 vs. 454,000 on w/o 3/7/16), delivering its strongest performance since November – since w/o 11/23/15.
“Nightline” owned the No. 1 telecast of the week in Total Viewers (1.867 million) with its Monday airing (3/14/16), outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Season to date, “Nightline” leads CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+295,000), Adults 25-54 (+106,000) and Adults 18-49 (+54,000).
NOTE: CBS’ “The Late Late Show” was delayed on Thursday (3/17/16) and Friday (3/18/16) and each telecast was coded as a special due to NCAA Basketball; ratings for both days are excluded from the averages. “The Late Late Show’s” averages are based on 3 days (Mon-Wed), while “Nightline” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” are based on 5 days.
ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EST on the ABC Television Network.
