‘Nightline’ Is No.1 in Total Viewers for the Week of August 1

— -- ‘Nightline’ Grows Week to Week in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49
ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.315 million) during the week of August 1, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.183 million) by 132,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.302 million) by 13,000.

“Nightline” turned in increases over the previous week (1.129 million, 439,000 and 347,000, respectively, for w/o 7/25/16) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+16%), Adults 25-54 (+10%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%) for the 2nd straight week.

“Nightline” had the No. 1 telecast of the week with its Wednesday airing (8/2/16) both Total Viewers (1.494 million), beating every telecast of the week of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Season to date, “Nightline” leads CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+283,000), Adults 25-54 (+94,000) and Adults 18-49 (+53,000).

NOTE: Due to the 2016 Olympic Opening Ceremonies on Friday (8/5/16), NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” did not air. NBC’s weekly averages are based on 4 days (Mon-Thurs).

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EDT on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late-night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
