title: Agent Dale Cooper to Return to 'Twin Peaks'

text: Kyle MacLachlan says Agent Dale Cooper once again will tout "damn good" cups of coffee when the cult TV show "Twin Peaks" returns for a limited run on Showtime in 2016.

At least, MacLachlan handed out just such a cup Monday when he emerged as Showtime President David Nevins spoke to reporters at the Television Critics Association meeting in Pasadena, California, about the series' return.

"I think you need a damn good cup of coffee," a smiling MacLachlan said, according to The Associated Press.

"I'm very excited to return to the strange and wonderful world of `Twin Peaks,"' MacLachlan said. "May the forest be with you."

During the show's original run in 1990-91, MacLachlan's straitlaced federal Agent Cooper investigated the question consuming viewers of the show set in an eerie Northwestern town: "Who killed Laura Palmer." But the series ended its original run with the suggestion that Cooper had become inhabited by the supernatural character Bob, an evil force central to Palmer's killing.

The reboot will be set in the present day, decades after the events in the original series.
